Talib Zanna recorded his seventh career double-double, scoring 19 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in a 75-54 victory over Fresno State in a game played Tuesday night in Pittsburgh.
Cameron Wright added a career high-tying 13 points as Pitt improved to 2-0. The Panthers had opened the season with an 88-55 win over Savannah State last Friday night.
Zanna played for the first time this year after sitting out Friday’s contest in a one-game suspension for an unspecified violation of team rules. Fresno State (1-1) was playing without 6-11 sophomore Tanner Giddings, who has a wrist injury.
Freshman Paul Watson led the Bulldogs with 18 points.
Pitt has now played 106 games against non-conference opponents at the 12 year-old Petersen Events Center, and has won 103.
