Zach Johnson won the first pro golf event of 2014 on Monday, closing with a 7-under-par 66 for a one-shot victory over Jordan Spieth at the Tournament of Champions at the Kapalua Resort’s Plantation Course in Kapalua, Hawaii.
The win was worth $1.14 million.
After recording a 74 in Sunday’s third round, Johnson found himself entering the final day in a three-way tie for the lead. He finished at 19-under-par 273.
Webb Simpson and Kevin Streelman tied for third place at -17.
