Oakland Athletics slugger Yoenis Cespedes became the first non-All-Star to win Major League Baseball’s All-Star week Home Run Derby by blasting 32 homers, including 17 in the first round, out of Citi Field in New York on Monday night.

Cespedes beat out 20 year-old Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper in the final round of the competition.

Pittsburgh Pirates third baseman Pedro Alvarez slugged six homers in the event’s first round, and did not advance in the competition.
