Fire officials believe a candle set off a fire that damaged a home near Clarion and sent an occupant to the hospital early Friday night.
Fire officials say 52 year-old Wendy Walters escaped the blaze by breaking and crawling through a kitchen window. Walters was treated for burns, smoke inhalation, and cuts caused by broken glass from the window.
The earliest first responders to the scene in Paint Township had been advised that an explosion may have occurred. Investigators have eliminated an explosion as the cause of the fire, but the official origin has not been determined.
Officials on the scene say Walters suffered burns on her face, hands and arms.
