A Winter Storm Warning will go into effect for most of the Oil Region at 7:00 PM Tuesday (2/4) and will extend through 7:00 PM Wednesday.
The National Weather Service has upgraded the previous Winter Storm Watch to a Warning for snow.
The Venango County forecast calls for the possibility of three-to-seven inches of snow accumulation on Tuesday night and/or two-to-four inches on Wednesday. Most of the heaviest snow is expected between 9:00 PM Tuesday and 2:00 PM Wednesday. The precipitation may begin as a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain.
Periods of intense snow are possible, and hazardous travel conditions may be encountered. High winds are not projected.
The storm should be followed by single digit morning lows and several days with temperatures no warmer than the low-to-mid 20’s. Another storm may develop by the middle of the weekend.
