Officials say a 29 year-old man from the Sandy Lake-Stoneboro area remains missing after a two-day search was called off on Sunday.
The man’s identity was not released. He apparently had been one of three people in a boat that capsized on Sandy Lake shortly before daybreak on Friday. The other occupants of the boat, a 30 year-old man and a 30 year-old woman, were able to swim to shore.
Fire and rescue officials, Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission personnel and divers from a Jamestown unit all participated in a search that turned up no results. Family members vowed to continue looking.
Officials say the missing man disappeared in water that was about 28 feet deep.
