Venango County teenage singer Hunter Cook was named the winner of a prestigious award in Christian country music on Wednesday night, capturing the Youth Horizon Award at the King Country Agapefest in Granbury, Texas.
Cook, who was also the “Taste of Talent” contest champion in Franklin and the Titusville Live talent competition winner last year, had recently captured honors in the Inspirational Country Music Awards Talent Contest in Nashville. He was one of five finalists for the Texas honor, given out during the closing Agapefest awards banquet on Wednesday.
A Sugarcreek Borough resident, Cook is also in line to potentially receive two honors at October’s HMG Nashville Christian Country Music Awards. He has been nominated in both the New Artist and Youth in Music categories.
