With the annual Venango County Fair about ready to begin, fair officials have discovered that a crucial piece of equipment is missing.
It appears the large plow used to prepare the fairgrounds’ pulling track for the annual event’s tractor and truck pulls has been stolen sometime since the 2012 fair ended. Replacement costs will run well over $1,000.
Reports indicate that an extensive amount of scrap metal, left over from fairgrounds construction jobs, was also stolen.
This year’s Venango County Fair is scheduled for next week, running from August 5 through August 11.
