Venango County Courthouse Work Winding Up

Venango County officials say, even though the temporary ramp in front of the courthouse in Franklin has been removed, entrance to the complex will still be through the building’s front doors until after Applefest.

The ramp had been utilized for several months under the understanding that, when construction work is completed, visitors will be required to access the courthouse through the newly-installed security doors at the rear of the building.

Officials indicate that workers are still wrapping up the 1,200 square foot addition in the back of the building, which has included not only the new entryway, but also the construction of some new first-floor offices.

The project cost more than a quarter-million dollars, and has been ongoing for most of the year.
