Oil City Police have released some of the details of a dramatic crash on the hillside on Oil City’s North Side at about 10:30 AM on Tuesday morning.

Accident investigators say a vehicle with faulty brakes rolled over on Gay Street, crashed through a guardrail and landed on its roof in the valley below near the street’s intersection with Clearfield Street.

Police say the driver, identified as 46 year-old Michael Yashinski from Oil City, was treated at UPMC Northwest in Cranberry for numerous bruises.

In addition to the guardrail, the vehicle took out a tree as it crashed, but apparently missed striking any houses or any other vehicles.
