Unemployment numbers were up in the month of June in at least four counties in this part of the Oil Region.
Those counties included Venango County, where the jobless number for June was up slightly to 8.1 percent. May unemployment was registered at eight percent.
In Clarion County, June’s unemployment was measured at 8.4 percent, up from 8.1 percent in May. Crawford County registered a 7.8 percent jobless rate in June, up from 7.4 percent. And, in Warren County, unemployment rose from 6.5 percent to 6.7 percent.
Elsewhere, unemployment in sparsely-populated Forest County slipped from an even 10 percent to 9.4 percent. And, in Mercer County, June’s jobless number remained steady at 8.3 percent.
