Two different power outages in northern Venango County and southern Crawford County on Wednesday were caused by unrelated sources.
An outage that affected both the Titusville and Pleasantville areas shortly before 8:00 AM was attributed to gusty winds and ice buildup. Power was restored within about an hour-and-a-half.
Just after 8:30 AM, other Pleasantville residents saw their power go out in an incident that is now being blamed on a squirrel. Power was restored to most customers during the morning, although some had to do without until about 2:00 PM.
A total of just under 700 electric customers was affected by the two incidents.
