At least two people received gunshot wounds and police were dealing with a potential hostage situation in an incident south of Greenville Wednesday night.
Details are sketchy, but early reports indicated that a woman shot in a possible domestic dispute was taken to a Youngstown hospital, and the man who police believe is responsible was shot by the first police officer who responded.
The situation began shortly before 8:30 PM in Pymatuning Township, near Transfer. Police did indicate that a man they say barricaded himself inside the home was taken into custody late Wednesday night.
One early report revealed that responding officers were at one time concerned that there may have been as many as three children in the house. Specific details are being withheld pending completion of the police investigation.
