Two Grove City men have been charged in connection with a fight at a campsite at Fisherman’s Cove in southern Venango County nearly two years ago that police say involved a machete, and in which two other men were injured.

Investigators say the charges stem from a June, 2012 fight that apparently started over the perceived harassment of two women who were at the campsite.

Police say 30 year-old Cody Wise is accused of attacking two men with a machete.  Charges against Wise include three counts of aggravated assault plus counts of simple assault and possessing an instrument of crime.  One of the victims allegedly suffered a long thigh wound, and the other escaped with only a small cut to a thumb.

34 year-old Adam Knox is charged with simple assault and harassment for his alleged involvement in the fight.

Wise was arraigned on Monday, and was lodged in the Venango County Jail with bail set at $25,000.
