Two residents of the George Junior Republic facility in Grove City were arrested by State Police from the Franklin station after their escape from the complex early Tuesday morning.

Officials say two 15 year-old boys assaulted a George Junior staff member at about 1:00 AM Tuesday, stole the employee’s car and fled in the car onto Interstate 80.

The vehicle crashed on the interstate highway near the Clarion County line, and troopers from Franklin were the first on the scene.

The teens were returned to George Junior, and police say they face charges that include assault and robbery.
