Two Franklin men were arrested late Sunday night after an altercation in which police say a shotgun was fired.

Franklin City Police say the incident began shortly after 10:30 PM while 29 year-old Kerry Switzer and 34 year-old Jeremy Tenney were drinking outside Switzer’s residence on Grant Street.  At one point, Switzer ordered Tenney to leave, and when he refused Switzer allegedly went into his home, returned with a shotgun and fired one round into the air.

Police say Switzer then went into the house, and locked the door, prompting Tenney to break through the door, resulting in a physical fight.

Police arrested both men.  An FPD report indicates that Switzer was charged with  aggravated assault, making terroristic threats and reckless endangerment, while Tenney was charged with  trespassing, burglary and harassment.  Police say both men were charged with public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

Switzer and Tenney were both arraigned and were lodged on bail in the Venango County Jail.
