Oil City Police feel they have found answers to several weekend crimes through the arrests of two men they believe are responsible in each incident.

Investigators say 24 year-old Shane Vitka, from Oil City, and 18 year-old Dustin Perry, from Polk, have been charged in incidents that included the vandalism of several cars in two Oil City neighborhoods on Friday, the armed robbery of a man in Siverly early Saturday morning, numerous failed attempts to use the robbery victim’s bank and credit cards, the theft of a toilet fixture from an unoccupied apartment on Pearl Avenue and finally, the discovery of illegal “bath salts” they say they discovered in Vitka’s residence during their investigation.

The numerous charges include robbery, theft, assault, making terroristic threats, possession of an instrument of crime, trespassing, attempted access device fraud, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and the possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both men were taken to the Venango County Jail on $50,000 bail, but Vitka also was held on a probation/parole detainer regarding the alleged violation of court supervision requirements connected with previous crimes.
