Truex Wins NASCAR Cup Series Championship

Martin Truex, Jr. wrapped up the 2017 NASCAR Cup series championship on Sunday by winning for the eighth time this year, taking the Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway in Florida.

The season title came down to Truex outlasting one of three other eligible contenders for the crown, Kyle Busch.  The other finalists, Kevin Harvick and Brad Keselowski, finished fourth and seventh, respectively, on Sunday.

Truex won the Cup for the first time.

The 2018 Cup racing season will begin over President’s Day weekend in February with the Daytona 500.
