A Crawford County man faces sentencing after he entered a guilty plea to a cruelty to animals charge after he left a dog behind in a house he says he was forced to vacate.  The dog died after about an estimated six weeks.

22 year-old William Daly, of Troy Township near Titusville, will be sentenced on April 19.

A State Constable discovered the dog’s remains in early October when he arrived at a Crowther Road residence to serve an arrest warrant on Daly.  It is believed the animal had been left alone without food and water from early August until it died in mid-September.

Daly reportedly testified that he had been kicked out of the house by the relative who owns the residence, and had left the dog inside.
