The commission stocks about 3.2 million adult trout each year in 735 streams and 123 lakes. 52 percent of the trout are stocked prior to the opening day of trout season. The fish include rainbow, brown, brook and golden rainbow trout.
For most of Pennsylvania, trout season will begin on April 13, although for 18 southeastern Pennsylvania counties, the season will start on March 30.
