The major transportation funding plan passed by the state House on Tuesday cleared the Senate on Wednesday and was sent back to the House for concurrence.

Some objection was raised in the Senate regarding the House adding the “prevailing wage” issue.

The bill would remove the cap on a tax paid by oil companies, and would increase motorists fees to raise money for roads, bridges and mass transit.

Although the initial vote followed party lines, the vote on final passage Wednesday was 43-7.
