A Titusville woman who entered a guilty plea in November to a charge of theft by unlawful taking in the disappearance of more than $35,000 from the Cherrytree Cemetery Association has been sentenced to anywhere from nine months to two years in the Venango County Jail.

34 year-old Stephanie Mullen was also ordered to serve five years post-jail probation.

Association officials had claimed that an account balance of about $36,000 they held when Mullen became their treasurer in 2006 had dwindled to about $1,000 in 2012.

Mullen had already been sentenced in January in Crawford County Court following her guilty pleas to two counts of forgery in a case in which she was accused of taking more than $2,000 from a Titusville Cub Scout pack for which she had served as secretary.  That sentence placed Mullen in the Crawford County Jail for anywhere from two months to two years, and included three years probation.

Between the two cases, Mullen has also been ordered to pay more than $26,000 in restitution.
