Titusville Woman Enters Guilty Plea In Theft Of Funds From Cemetery Association

November 26, 2013
By

A Titusville-area woman has entered a guilty plea to a charge of theft by unlawful taking in the disappearance of more than $35,000 from the Cherrytree Cemetery Association for whom she served as treasurer for six years.

34 year-old Stephanie Mullen will be sentenced in January following her guilty plea entered Monday in Venango County Court.  Another count against Mullen was dismissed.

Association officials say the money dwindled away from a $36,000 account from 2006 until 2012, at which time they learned that their account balance was under $1,000.

Mullen will also be sentenced in January on her guilty pleas entered in October in Crawford County to two counts of forgery in a case in which she was accused of taking more than $2,000 from a Titusville Cub Scout pack for which she served as secretary.
