A Titusville woman has been charged after she allegedly used someone else’s identity to create a phony Facebook account in the other person’s name, and utilized the site to defame the victim and harass her own mother.

28 year-old Jessica Kelly is charged with  identity theft, stalking and harassment by communication.  Investigators did not elaborate on the accusations of defamation and harassment.

The investigation was spurred by the Oil City Police Department.  There, officials stress that identity theft does not cover only the use of someone’s identity for financial gain, but it can include other crimes, as well.
