A Tidioute man was sentenced Friday to 33-to-66 years in state prison in the shooting death of a 56 year-old woman just days before Christmas.
52 year-old Randy Poole testified that he had been drinking and using “bath salts,” and did not remember the events of December 20, the day 56 year-old Kathleen Sweeney was shot to death. Sweeney’s body was found in her car in her garage in Deerfield Township. She had been shot twice in the head.
Poole was arrested later that night after allegedly having tried to flee the police after he wrecked his truck about two miles outside of Tidioute.
In Warren County Court on Friday, Poole was charged on counts of third-degree homicide, burglary, a firearms possession violation, and fleeing or attempting to elude police – charges to which he had entered guilty pleas in late January.
