Storms that moved through northwestern Pennsylvania on Thursday afternoon were rather harmless when you consider they prompted the issuance of a tornado warning for southern Crawford County. The warning, prompted by severe weather in the Meadville and Linesville areas shortly before 3:00 PM, was discontinued by 3:45 PM. Other areas, including Venango County, found themselves under a severe thunderstorm watch by later Thursday afternoon.
The heaviest rain and strongest winds traveled in a somewhat southeasterly direction into eastern Mercer County and southern Venango County, affecting communities like Jackson Center, Stoneboro, Barkeyville and Clintonville.
Rainy weather was expected to continue through Friday, and a sunny weekend has been projected.
