C-93 Radio reports that a couple from Texas, who did not know the Fairmount City couple who were arrested while transporting their family through the state of Indiana in a rental truck last week, has posted bail for the Clarion County residents.

The report indicates that David and Julie Boenker, from Fort Worth, posted 10-thousand dollars after they became upset upon hearing the news story from Indiana.

41 year-old David Detjen and 40 year-old Rebecca Detjen were charged in the New Castle, Indiana area after State Police inspected their rental van and said they found five of the couple’s seven chidren riding in the back.  Police say there were also fifteen cats in the back of the truck, that some of the children were riding unsecured atop the family’s furnishings, that there was no heat in the vehicle on a 32 degree day, and that there was a pair of partially filled gasoline tanks in the rear of the vehicle.

Reportedly, two other children and three additional cats were riding with the children’s parents in the cab of the rental truck.

Initial reports indicated the family may have been headed to California.
