The Venango County commissioners have given their approval to a preliminary $51.3 million county budget that does not contain a real estate tax increase.
Expenses for 2014 are listed at about a two-percent higher level than for this year. The spending plan anticipates a deficit of more than $2.8 million.
The general fund budget in the overall plan was listed at more than $18.9 million.
Final approval is expected at the commissioners’ meeting of December 10.
