If you have not yet filed your income tax forms, you are down to the last several hours in which to get the job done.
Today (April 15) is the deadline date for filing your income taxes on the federal, state and local levels.
If you cannot finish your federal forms by the midnight deadline, you can E-file form 4868, the request for an extension to file. Jennifer Jenkins, an Internal Revenue Service spokesperson, tells Radio PA News this is not an extension to pay. You must still submit payment for the estimated amount due to the federal government,
Jenkins says the IRS does have payment plans – complete with fees. You can also use a credit card, but you are advised to compare any interest you would pay with the fees and penalties you would pay the IRS.
