The Pennsylvania Supreme Court on Monday rejected a challenge to a constitutional provision requiring judges to retire at age 70.

The vote by the state’s highest court was unanimous.

Ironically, the court’s Chief Justice, Ronald Castille, is seeking a new ten-year term.  But, Castille will turn 70 in March, and under constitutional law will be required to retire by the end of next year.
