A power outage that affected residents of Titusville, Hydetown and Oil Creek Township on Sunday evening has been blamed on a traffic accident on Route 8 just north of Titusville.
Police say a car operated by 84 year-old Robert Shaderline, from Oil City, left the road around 5:45 PM, breaking a utility pole in two places. Shaderline was later treated for injuries that police described as “moderate.”
More than 600 electric customers were left without power. Most had electric service restored within an hour-and-a-half.
