A Clarion County man was convicted in Venango County Court this week on 16 counts based on charges filed in connection with the burglaries of six Venango County businesses.
38 year-old Jerry Ritchey was accused in the 2011 burglaries of businesses in Cranberry Township and in Oil City. Charges included multiple counts of burglary and theft. Ritchey will be sentenced next month.
Ritchey already has begun serving sentences that could total 27 years on his convictions on thirteen counts involving burglaries in Clearfield County, one count out of multiple charges in three cases involving burglaries in Clarion County, and his guilty pleas to charges stemming from accusations he tried to hire someone to kill three people, including his ex-wife and his ex-girlfriend, while he was serving time in the Clearfield County Jail.
