Henrik Stenson on Sunday won both the $1.44 million prize for winning golf’s Tour Championship and a $10 million bonus check for capturing the FedEx Cup competition.
Stenson did it all at the East Lake Golf Club near Atlanta. His final round score of 2-under-par 68 gave Stenson a four-day total of 13-under-par 267, good for a three-stroke victory over both Jordan Spieth and Steve Stricker, and four over Webb Simpson.
Simpson shot a 63 on Sunday, while Spieth recorded a 64 and Stricker a 65.
Stenson, a 37 year-old Swede, won both the Tour Championship and the FedEx Cup challenge for the first time, and is now rated number-4 in the world golf rankings.
