The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Thursday that they have signed one of their two fourth-round draft picks.
Syracuse safety Shamarko Thomas was available to the Steelers on draft day after they completed a trade with the Cleveland Browns for one of next year’s draft selections. They chose him with the 111th overall pick.
Thomas started 39 of 48 games in his four years at Syracuse, and he recorded 263 tackles, 16-and-a-half tackles-for-losses, two interceptions and four sacks. In his senior season, Thomas racked up 88 tackles.
