Steelers Post 20-17 Comeback Victory At Indianapolis

November 13, 2017
By

Chris Boswell kicked a 33-yard field goal as time expired on Sunday afternoon, giving the Pittsburgh Steelers a 20-17 comeback victory over the Colts in Indianapolis.

The Steelers had trailed 17-3 until just before the midway point of the third quarter, and while they were on the comeback trail, Boswell had an extra point kick blocked and nearly returned all the way for a score, and the second of three field goal attempts had clanked off the right upright.

The Colts (3-7) built their two-touchdown advantage on scoring throws from Jacoby Brissett to Donte Moncrief and Chester Rogers, and a 48-yard field goal by the ageless Adam Vinatieri.  The Steelers cut the Colts’ lead to 17-9 on a third-quarter touchdown throw from Ben Roethlisberger to JuJu Smith-Schuster, and tied the contest in the fourth period on a TD toss to tight end Vance McDonald and a two-point conversion pass from Roethlisberger to Martavis Bryant.

Now at 7-2, Pittsburgh holds a three-game lead in the AFC North with seven games remaining.

Roethlisberger completed 19-of-31 passes for 236 yards with one interception.  Smith-Schuster caught five passes for 97 yards.  Le’Veon Bell carried the ball 26 times for 80 rushing yards, and recorded five receptions for another 32 yards.

Brissett was 14-for-24 for 222 yards with one interception.  Rogers caught six passes for 104 yards.  Frank Gore rushed for 54 yards.

The Steelers have a short turnaround, as they will host the Tennessee Titans on Thursday night at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh.  The Titans (6-3) defeated Cincinnati 24-20 on Sunday.
