The Board of Governors of the State System of Higher Education voted this week to approve the four-year contract with faculty members at the fourteen state-owned universities, including Clarion, Slippery Rock and Edinboro Universities.

Members of the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties had been working without a contract since the end of June, 2011.

The new pact is retroactive, but does not include a pay increase for the first year.  Salary hikes totaling three to seven percent will reportedly cover the final three years of the deal.
