Saturday, April 26 will be National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.
Sites for the collection of expired, unused or unwanted prescription medications will include the Venango and Crawford County State Police stations, located in Cranberry and Meadville. Their collection effort will run on Saturday from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM.
Officials say over-the-counter medications will also be accepted. It is being referred to as an anonymous service, and is open to the public – held in connection with a national effort coordinated by the federal Drug Enforcement Administration. The effort is focused on removing potentially dangerous controlled substances from medicine cabinets and other places where they might fall into the hands of children or unauthorized users.
