Radio PA News reports that Pennsylvania is making changes in the state’s debit card system used by those people who receive unemployment and workers compensation payments.

Those who have received such payments since last May can expect to receive a new debit card by sometime in March.  State Treasurer Rob McCord says the changes that are being made will offer cardholders the use of a wider choice of network ATM systems for withdrawals, and reduce fees for other transactions.

McCord says his department expects the updates to save cardholders more than $5 million a year in transaction fees.
