A Slippery Rock man and his dog are both okay after they were rescued by a neighbor from a swamp near the man’s home early Wednesday evening.
The neighbor reportedly used a kayak to work his way toward 70 year-old James Hogue, who later said he became stuck in knee-high mud while he was searching for arrowheads. After Hogue could no longer move, he began calling for help. His dog stayed by his side.
Hogue was checked out at a hospital, and was pronounced fit. The faithful dog is also fine.
