Sibling May Have Fired Shot That Injured Two Year-Old Boy

Reports from Crawford County now indicate that a second child may have fired the shot that seriously injured a two year-old boy at a residence near Cochranton on Monday afternoon.

The incident occurred at a residence on Sugar Creek Lane in Wayne Township.

The earliest police reports only revealed that the toddler was shot in the face near his right eye with a handgun.  The two year-old was rushed to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment.  Another child at the same residence, reportedly a one year-old, was not injured.

More recent reports indicate that a four year-old sibling may have found and fired the gun – reportedly a .38 Ruger.

Police have not released the name of the family which is undergoing this traumatic experience.
