A Shippenville man faces eleven charges after he allegedly assaulted a teenage girl who was experiencing car problems.

State Police say charges against 22 year-old Ethan Hannold include attempted rape, attempted indecent assault, aggravated assault and simple assault.

Troopers say the incident started on the night of March 24 when a 17 year-old female driver swerved to the side of Route 322 in Elk Township, Clarion County, to avoid a collision with an oncoming vehicle.  The girl was then unable to start her car.  Investigators say Hannold showed up at the scene, reached through the open driver’s window and hit the girl in the face, pulled off some of the victim’s clothing and then attempted to pull the girl out through the window.

The victim tells police she pushed Hannold away, and was then able to start her car and leave the scene.

Troopers say their investigation discovered items of the girl’s clothing, plus some four dozen pairs of women’s underwear in Hannold’s bedroom and in his car.

Hannold was arraigned, and was lodged in the Clarion County Jail on $25,000 bail.
