State Police say a Mercer County man was injured when he swerved to avoid two deer and his truck rolled over onto its roof.

The incident happened shortly before 4:30 PM Thursday afternoon on Kennerdell Road (Route 2013) in Rockland Township.  Troopers tell KQW that 22 year-old Brian McClearn, from Sharpsville, was taken to UPMC Northwest in Cranberry after the incident.

McClearn says he braked to avoid the deer, and his pickup left the road and struck an embankment.  According to a police report, the truck rolled onto its roof and “slid down the road.”

There was no report available concerning the extent of McClearn’s injuries.
