Police in Mercer County were searching Tuesday for a Sharon man thought to be holed up in his home and facing assault and weapons charges.
Police say they consider 43 year-old Kyle Cheza to be armed and dangerous.
A raid was conducted Tuesday by the Mercer County Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) on Cheza’s home on Spencer Avenue in Sharon, where Cheza was believed to have barricaded himself inside. Cheza was not found, and the search began.
Police say Cheza was being sought for allegedly striking a man in the head with a handgun late Saturday night after Cheza had walked into the man’s yard, demanded a beer and was refused.
Charges include aggravated and simple assault, carrying an unlicensed weapon, possessing a weapon as a convicted felon and making terroristic threats.
