Search Continues For Woman Who Jumped From Car On Interstate 80

July 7, 2014

Family members and friends will resume the search for a Centre County woman who jumped from a car on the westbound lanes of Interstate 80 between DuBois and Clarion.

The missing woman has been identified as 37 year-old Susan Bachman, from Julian.

The woman’s father, who was driving the car, says Bachman survived the Friday morning tumble and ran off into the woods.

Police with search dogs, firefighters from several Jefferson County departments, and other search-and-rescue teams aided by a police helicopter searched the area near I-80 mile marker 77.  A wallet and phone were found in a nearby barn, but the subject of the search could not be located.

Added to the concern about Bachman’s safety is the report that the woman was being transported to the Clarion Psychiatric Hospital at the time of the incident.
