Jussi Jokinen scored twice on Wednesday night, and the Pittsburgh Penguins bounced back from Monday night’s 5-1 loss to Florida with a home win by the same score over the Montreal Canadiens.
League scoring leader Sidney Crosby added a goal for Pittsburgh (35-13-2), as did Evgeni Malkin and Taylor Pyatt. Marc-Andre Fleury (28-11-1) stopped 23 shots for the win.
Rene Bourque scored the only goal for Montreal (27-18-5).
The Penguins are 20-4-1 in their last 25 games, have taken a 15-point lead over the New York Rangers in the NHL’s Metropolitan Division and lead Boston by seven points in the race for the number-one playoff seed in the league’s Eastern Conference.
