A 72 year-old bridge over Route 8 in northern Butler County is to be replaced, with work scheduled to begin Monday (June 3).
The Adams Corner Bridge on Route 8 between Branchton and Boyers Roads is to be replaced by a concrete box culvert.
During the initial stages of the work, flaggers will maintain single-lane traffic. Eventually, temporary signals will be in place to control the alternating, single-lane traffic.
An official truck detour for vehicles heading east on Route 108 to Route 8 will first take the truck traffic north on Route 8 before re-routing it, if necessary, to original destinations. The work should be completed by sometime in September.
