A Rocky Grove man was arrested early Wednesday morning after he allegedly tried to elude a Franklin police vehicle in a stolen SUV.
Franklin City Police say they tried to stop a vehicle that ran a red light at the intersection of Liberty and 14th Streets in Franklin shortly before 3:00 AM Wednesday. Officers say the driver of the SUV tried to elude them by traveling up the city hillside on 14th Street and down the hill on Myrtle Street onto 12th Street. The suspect stopped on the 400-block of 12th Street and allegedly tried to flee on foot.
Officers say they apprehended 21 year-old Sean Reed in a parking lot on Buffalo Street. Franklin Police then learned that the SUV had been stolen from a Rocky Grove residence. Reports indicate the keys to the vehicle had been inside another vehicle parked near the SUV.
Reed faces a dozen charges. A preliminary hearing is set for next Wednesday afternoon.
