The long-awaited re-opening of Route 62 (Riverside Drive) north of Oil City should happen sometime Tuesday evening (Sept. 24).
Motorists are reminded that, while the Seneca Hill realignment project continues, a three-way stop will be in effect at the intersection of Routes 62 and 257 at the bottom of the hill. Eventually, new traffic signals will be in operation in that area.
PennDOT also reminds drivers that work will be continuing in the area, especially on Route 257.
The section of Riverside Drive bordering Oil City’s East End has been closed since the middle of August due to a bridge replacement project that has been related to the work on Seneca Hill. The hill project includes not only the realignment of the lower portion of Route 257, but widening, resurfacing, curb and ramp work, sidewalk construction, guiderails, signage and lighting work, as well as the introduction of the new traffic signal patterns.
PennDOT hopes to have the project completed by the end of November.
