Rimersburg Man Sentenced To County Jail For Aiding In The Removal Of A Corpse

A Rimersburg man has been sentenced to up to two years in the Clarion County Jail for aiding in the removal of the corpse of a woman who died of a heroin overdose in his apartment.

C-93 Radio reports that 32 year-old Joel Stark had entered a guilty plea to a charge of conspiracy to abuse a corpse.

Stark was charged in connection with the death of 19 year-old Devan Knapp, from Brookville.  Knapp died in January of a heroin dose allegedly administered in Stark’s apartment by 30 year-old Shawn Carr, from Sigel.

Carr was sentenced to an 8-to-16 year prison sentence in the woman’s death. and for transporting Knapp’s body in her own car to a remote area near Fisher and arranging the scene to make it appear that Knapp had died in her vehicle.

Investigators claim Stark aided in the removal of the body.  The victim was the subject of a search for four days before her body was found.
