A Reno woman is being charged with 44 counts of forgery and one count of theft by unlawful taking after she was accused of taking more than $12,000 from another woman’s banking account.
The victim was identified as a 96 year-old Cranberry Township woman.
A State Police release says 51 year-old Lisa Hood was arraigned Tuesday on the forgery and theft counts, and her bail was set at $10,000. Hood was lodged in the Venango County Jail.
Reports indicate that Hood had served as the victim’s caretaker. Hood is accused of forging and cashing checks made out to “cash” from the victim’s account between June and December of last year.
